The HTC Sensation is one of the most advanced phones available on the current market with many people rushing out to buy an HTC Sensation contract. But how does it perform across all the mediums of media that are available these days? We look through how it handles photos, video, music and browsing and see if it is a capable multimedia device/ phone.
Pictures
The phone comes with an 8mp snapper for the still medium of photography as well as a dual LED flash to ensure night capture is no problem. So, how does it work in reality? Well very well, pictures are high quality and the 4.3inch 540x960p screen really deals well with the photos due to its fantastic size and its range and depth of colours, as well as its contrast of blacks/ whites and shadow detail. We were very happy with the overall photo experience but felt the Sensation is let down as it does not have a physical camera button. Although it is not essential many people will prefer to have one and we were left with some shaky photos after having to press the screen.
Video
The moving picture is also a great medium when displayed on the screen. The 540x960p resolution and all the above colour abilities all transfer across to the video and make it a smooth process. The 1.2GHz dual core motor that powers this Sensation also means no lag with HD video playback. Add the Watch film streaming to this and you are in for something quite special from your device. You can stream movies straight from HTC’s site in full HD – excellent!
Music
The HTC player is also one of the best media players on the current batch of phones. It is innovative and also offers a number of settings, so you can change your audio preferences and also how music is played back through the phone. The Sensation takes up to 32GB in SD cards, so you can get a lot of your music collection on there. We found the device to offer good quality playback and certainly would place it up with most of the best in the premium phone range.
Browsing
The sum of the big screen, fast processor and the high resolution all lead to the device being a potentially good browsing device. And guess what, it is! Couple all this with a fast HSDPA connection and you have a phone that is fit for a king as far as browsing is concerned. It is fast and zoom in is great, beside this it’s a great machine for watching online video and really is a top class browsing phone.
The Sensation has all the right combinations to make it an award winning entertainment device and so much more than just a phone. It offers excellent music and video support, online and offline, and some of the best visuals available on a phone thanks to its gorgeous qHD 4.3 inch screen.
