Infosys Joins hands with Nvidia to develop Nvidia Cuda Technology enabled software solutions

Infosys Technologies a Software giant and Nvidia a world leader in visual technologies announced a partnership to develop Nvidia Cuda (Compute Unified Device Architecture) Technology-enabled software solutions.

The partnership will see setting up of the Infosys-Nvidia Technology campus at the Infosys campus. Cuda technology, developed by Santa Clara-headquartered, Nividia is a revolutionary architecture in the field of high performance computing. Infosys will also work on its clients to convert their applications into the Nvidia Cuda platform. This will help customers to reduce number of conventional server hardware at data centres, saving costs and power consumption.

Cuda technology is designed to allow application developers to tap the unexploited power potential of GPU in order to accelerate a certain application, consequently boosting performance level.

Through this partnership, Infosys will focus on accelerating its application development process by simplifying complex computational projects for its global and Indian customers across industry.

Microsoft much anticipated Project Natal hands free gaming control system would hit stores on early November 2010

Microsoft’s much-anticipated Project Natal hands-free gaming control system could hit store shelves as soon as November 2010 and it would cost as little as $50. The Project Natal has generated more hype than any announcement the console gaming industry has seen in years. It could be years before we see the first product that resembles the Natal in stores.

British games magazine MCV said that Microsoft could launch Natal with a 5 million unit global shipment. Microsoft has been demoting the tech and detailing its 2010 plans in order to spur more development support. Google Hoped to acquire AdMob in the next several months

Google said it hoped to close the acquisition in the next several months. Google, which already sells ads on mobile phones, offers a wide variety of mobile phone applications and makes the Android software that some handset makers use to power their phones. Google is hoping to replicate its success in selling Web ads in the mobile arena.

Google has agreed to acquire AdMob, a fast-growing start-up that developed technology to place ads on mobile phones, for $750 million in stock.

AdMob, Founded in 2006, calls itself the world’s largest mobile advertising marketplace. Today the mobile has a huge growth opportunity. The opportunity working with AdMob to really accelerate our efforts in an important industry. Google said that the acquisition would help the Internet search company to speed up efforts to develop more effective tools for creating and placing mobile ads on smartphones and other devices, a small but rapidly expanding market.

AdMob, which specializes in placing banner ads on mobile phones, would help cement Google’S forays in display advertising, an area where it has lagged rivals like Yahoo. The all-stock deal is modest for Google, given it’s roughly $177 billion market value. But it is the third-largest in its history, behind the $3.1 billion deal for the advertising specialist DoubleClick and the $1.65 billion acquisition of YouTube.
