Google to offer free unlimited International calls

You can now make international calls via your Gmail for cheaper than using regular telephones. Google is allowing free unlimited calls to the US and Canada till the end of the year 2010. The call quality was absolutely clear on both the side. There were no disconnections during long calls.

After free period is over, calls to other countries can be made after purchasing pre-paid credits on their Google Voice website. It will be a good bargain for people in India to use this service to make calls to the US or Canada after the free period is over. India to any other country is charged at 6 cents (Rs. 2.7) per minute.

In your Gmail, see if you’ve got that “Call Phone” option right underneath your status change drop-down menu. This option is available free till the end of the year 2010. so, make US/Canada phone-calls free from Gmail.

Pros and cons of Sony Ericsson (Anzu) Xperia X12 vs Nokia N8

Sony Ericsson Anzu, which is most likely to be called as Xperia X12. The most interesting news is that this phone is running Android 2.1. Sony Ericsson looking to launch the device with Android 2.2 early in 2011.

The Anzu/Xperia X12 will probably get an Android Gingerbread (2.3) in a later update, post-launch. This High-def video phone Anzu features a large 4.3-inch LCD display with 854 x 480 resolution, an 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 processor, which is the same that is found in the HTC Desire Z and a 12 megapixel camera.

The camera will also be capable of recording 720p video. The Qualcomm chipset offers a nippy, lag-free Android experience, encoding 720p video in H264 smoothly and offering users increased playback times for audio and video.

AOL has working on Code-named Project Phoenix, the site which makes easier to fire off a quick e-mail, text or instant message. People can send short replies right from the inbox, without having to click on a message.

The new design displays thumbnails of recent photo attachments at a glance. Project Phoenix lets people link up their free e-mail accounts from Microsoft, Yahoo and Google.

In future versions, AOL plans to pull in Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn messages, too.
