Mr. Ranjit Yadav, Director, Mobile and IT, Samsung India said that Samsung Electronics will launch its own Operating System, Bada, in the second quarter of next fiscal.

He said this when he was on the occasion of the launch of two new dual sim handsets (B-5722 and Duos 259) taking the number of company’s dual sim handsets to six, including GSM and CDMA segments. He said that he is expecting dual sim phones to contribute 15 per cent of its total handset volumes this year. He explained that dual sim phones were becoming the answer to consumers looking for better performance, value addition, and segregation of numbers for personal and attractive propositions from different service providers without the necessity of carrying two or three handsets.

Mr. Yadav said that Samsung India hosted a Java application store on Samsung Fun Club with access to 40 multimedia applications. Another ten more applications on Samsung Fun Club would be added by the end of this month.
