Seagate new 7mm-thick laptop hard drive- a technological advancements

Seagate is going to launch a new 7mm-thick laptop hard drive, which almost 25 percent thinner than current models. The launch of 7mm-thick laptop hard drive is planned for the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show in January, which will allow computer makers to build even thinner laptop computers. This 7mm-thick laptop hard drive is important because it will drive better technology toward the 90 percent of netbooks that rely on 9.5-mm, 2.5-inch drives.

Generally, Disk drives for laptop computers are typically 9.5 mm or 12.5 mm thick. Recent technological advancements in magnetic data storage allows for more data to fit on a single platter. Hence Seagate makes the new technological advancements in magnetic data storage with 7mm-thick laptop hard drive. But Seagate did not disclose the capacity of the drive, which will be part of its Momentous Thin series.

Photon TV has three subscription models such as Rs. 5 per channel per month, Rs. 29 per month for My Combo and Rs. 75 per month for all the channels. The Photon TV will also provide recorded shows and music to the user. The regional channels can also be picked up through this service. Entertainment channels will also find it easier to reach to more users through this Photon TV service.

Cisco has introduced the FlipShare TV which brings and share Flip shot videos and photographs on the big screen

Cisco has introduced the FlipShare TV, a new device that connects to a users HDTV (or plain old TV) and enables users to put their Flip-shot videos and photographs on the big screen. Flip Video was recently acquired by networking giant Cisco.

The FlipShare TV connects to televisions or HDTVs via composite or HDMI cables. Users transfer video and images to the device using a FlipShare TV USB key that pops into a PC or Mac: just put the key into a PC or Mac running the included FlipShare 5.0 software, and the USB key communicates wirelessly with the FlipShare TV to put images and video on the television without using a Wi-Fi network.

It also enables users to share their videos and image s with other FlipShare TV owners. The people at Flip see the FlipShare TV as an easy way to share video with friends and family. The Flipshare TV is available in major electronics retailers for a suggested price of $149.99.

Cisco consumer products senior VP Jonathan Kaplan, in a statement said that now it become a simple and affordable solution to view and share photos and videos on any TV.
